We're looking for a skilled and dedicated Mason to join our construction team in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. As a Mason, you will be instrumental in constructing and maintaining high-quality structures using various materials such as brick, stone, concrete, and tile. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational abilities, and the capacity to work efficiently in a collaborative environment while maintaining the highest safety standards.Responsibilities
- Prepare and mix materials according to specifications, including mortar, paste, cement, and slacking lime, ensuring proper consistency for various applications
- Read and interpret blueprints and specifications to plan work, estimate material requirements, and understand project objectives
- Construct and repair walls, floors, and other structures using brick, stone, concrete, and tile with precision and quality craftsmanship
- Perform minor repairs to civil structures, including painting, tiling, and gypsum work, addressing defects and ensuring structural integrity
- Install and repair concrete, terrazzo, quarry tile, wall tile, ceramic floor, and specialty floors according to design specifications
- Erect barricades and place warning signals around work sites to ensure safety and prevent unauthorized access
- Operate sandblasting equipment to smooth or prepare metal, masonry, or similar surfaces for finishing work
- Document all work performed and materials used for accurate record-keeping and project tracking purposes
- Collaborate with other construction professionals, including supervisors and team members, to ensure project completion on time and within budget
- Adhere to all safety protocols, maintain a clean and organized work area, and promote a culture of safety awareness
- Adapt to working in various weather conditions specific to Abu Dhabi's climate, including extreme heat and intense sunlight
- Identify and address unexpected challenges on the job site through problem-solving and proactive communication
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 8 years of professional experience as a Mason or in a similar masonry capacity
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, specifications, and technical drawings
- Strong knowledge of various construction materials, techniques, and industry best practices
- Excellent skills in brick laying, stone masonry, concrete work, and tiling applications
- Demonstrated experience with sandblasting equipment and minor structural repairs
- Physical stamina and strength to perform demanding tasks throughout the workday and work at heights when necessary
- Exceptional attention to detail and unwavering commitment to producing high-quality work
- Solid basic math skills for accurate material estimation, measurement, and calculations
- Strong problem-solving abilities to address unexpected issues and adapt to changing project requirements
- Excellent organizational skills and effective time management capabilities
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to work well in a team environment and take direction from supervisors
