What you will do

  • Pediatric Eye Examinations: Conduct routine age-appropriate eye exams—visual acuity, stereopsis, visual field, binocular vision, and hand-eye coordination—using pediatric-specific techniques and equipment.
  • Condition Screening & Management: Screen to manage amblyopia, strabismus, refractive errors, and congenital eye conditions.
  • Patient History & Evaluation: Take medical and developmental histories, and assess symptoms including discharge, redness, tearing, and light sensitivity.
  • Treatment, Prescription & Referral: Prescribe corrective lenses, glasses, and vision therapy; refer to a board-certified pediatric ophthalmologist for specialist care.
  • Patient & Family Education: Educate children and parents/guardians on eye care, corrective lens and patch compliance, and eye safety factors.
  • Community & Program Involvement: Support vision screening alongside school health and early intervention programs, and contribute to pediatric eye health awareness initiatives.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Optometry (Ministry of Higher Education-approved)
  • 3–5 years' optometry experience (pediatric exposure preferred)
