Job Description
Your Impact
- 100% of pediatric patients receive age-appropriate eye examinations using specific techniques and equipment.
- 100% of complex or surgical cases are referred to pediatric ophthalmology within appropriate timeframes.
- ≥90% of prescribed treatment plans are documented and tracked for compliance.
- Sustained increase in pediatric patient footfall driven by diagnostic quality and family trust-building.
What you will do
- Pediatric Eye Examinations: Conduct routine age-appropriate eye exams—visual acuity, stereopsis, visual field, binocular vision, and hand-eye coordination—using pediatric-specific techniques and equipment.
- Condition Screening & Management: Screen to manage amblyopia, strabismus, refractive errors, and congenital eye conditions.
- Patient History & Evaluation: Take medical and developmental histories, and assess symptoms including discharge, redness, tearing, and light sensitivity.
- Treatment, Prescription & Referral: Prescribe corrective lenses, glasses, and vision therapy; refer to a board-certified pediatric ophthalmologist for specialist care.
- Patient & Family Education: Educate children and parents/guardians on eye care, corrective lens and patch compliance, and eye safety factors.
- Community & Program Involvement: Support vision screening alongside school health and early intervention programs, and contribute to pediatric eye health awareness initiatives.

- 3–5 years' optometry experience (pediatric exposure preferred)
