We are looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Post Fixture & Vessel Operations Executive to join our growing Operations team. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious shipping professional with solid dry bulk operational experience who wishes to further develop under the guidance of experienced vessel operators.
Experience Required
- Minimum 5 years' experience in Dry Bulk Vessel Operations / Post Fixture Operations
- Experience working with ship owners, charterers, port agents and brokers
- Prior experience handling voyage operations from fixture through completion
- Experience with voyage accounting and laytime calculations will be highly advantageous
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in any discipline
- Shipping, Maritime or Logistics qualification preferred
- Diploma or Master's Degree in Shipping will be an added advantage
Key Responsibilities
Voyage Operations
- Execute post-fixture operations from fixture recap through voyage completion
- Review Fixture Recaps and Charter Parties
- Prepare voyage instructions and operational documentation
- Coordinate vessel nominations and acceptance with all stakeholders
- Liaise with Owners, Charterers, Port Agents, Brokers, Surveyors and Terminals
- Monitor vessel movements and provide daily operational updates
- Coordinate loading and discharge operations
- Ensure smooth execution of voyages whilst maintaining high service standards
Port & Agency Management
- Appoint and coordinate Load Port and Discharge Port Agents
- Review and verify PDAs and FDAs
- Coordinate Statements of Facts and supporting documentation
- Monitor port productivity and operational performance
Voyage Performance
- Assist in voyage profitability monitoring
- Support bunker planning and bunker procurement
- Coordinate coastal conversion and reversion where applicable
- Assist in freight tax and bunker duty calculations
- Monitor operational costs throughout the voyage
Laytime & Claims
- Prepare Laytime Calculations
- Review and negotiate laytime settlements in accordance with Charter Party provisions
- Coordinate with P&I Clubs, Surveyors and Claims teams whenever required
- Maintain complete voyage records and supporting documentation
Reporting & Administration
- Prepare voyage MIS reports for Management
- Maintain accurate operational records
- Ensure timely closure of voyage files
- Continuously identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and voyage performance
Technical Skills
